A quick and flavorful Thai dish featuring chicken, fresh basil, and vibrant bell peppers, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste (optional)
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced chicken to the pan and cook until browned and cooked through.
  4. Stir in the red bell pepper and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and chili paste, mixing well.
  6. Stir in the fresh basil leaves and cook for another minute until wilted.
  7. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

You can substitute chicken with tofu or shrimp for variations. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
