Cucumber Salad

A refreshing and simple cucumber salad perfect for summer barbecues and picnics.

Ingredients

  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 1/2 onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the cucumbers thinly, aiming for about 1/8 inch.
  2. Sprinkle the sliced cucumbers with salt and let them sit for about 30 minutes to drain excess moisture.
  3. Prepare the dressing by mixing together the vinegar, sugar, and chopped dill until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Rinse the cucumbers under cold water, then pat them dry with paper towels.
  5. Toss the rinsed cucumbers and sliced onions with the dressing until well-coated.
  6. Allow the salad to marinate for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
