Soft, chewy cookies bursting with rich chocolatey goodness, perfect for gatherings or as a midnight snack.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or freeze in a zip-lock bag for up to three months.
