Decadent dessert bars combining the creamy indulgence of cheesecake with the warm essence of churros, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sugar for coating
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Add the egg to the mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  5. Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the pressed dough.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the cheesecake layer.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon in a bowl for coating.
  10. Cool the bars, then sprinkle the sugar mixture over the top and cut into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the refrigerator. They can be frozen for up to 2 months.
