A rich and decadent chocolate dessert with a gooey molten center that’s surprisingly easy to make at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare the ramekins by greasing them with butter and dusting with flour.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips and butter in a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  3. Add the powdered sugar to the chocolate mixture and stir until combined.
  4. Incorporate the eggs and vanilla extract, blending until silky.
  5. Fold in the all-purpose flour and salt gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling each about ¾ full.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are set and the center remains soft.
  8. Cool for 1 minute, then invert onto a plate and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries for an extra treat. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
