A deliciously simple Chocolate Chip Banana Bread that brings comfort and joy, utilizing ripe bananas and gooey chocolate chips.

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s nice and hot for your banana bread.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl with a fork, leaving a few little chunks.
  3. Stir in the melted butter to create a rich mix.
  4. Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until well combined.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and a pinch of salt over the mixture, stirring gently.
  6. Add the all-purpose flour, stirring until just combined—be careful not to over-mix.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips for even distribution.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing it out evenly.
  9. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
