Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: breadcrumbs for coating

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients in a food processor: chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.
  2. Adjust the consistency by adding breadcrumbs if the mixture is too wet.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls or patties that hold together well.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Coat the falafel with olive oil and place them in the air fryer basket, spaced apart.
  6. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through.
  7. Serve hot with tahini sauce or in pita bread with veggies!

Notes

For best results, rinse and drain chickpeas well. If using dried chickpeas, soak overnight and cook until tender. Adjust spices to taste and feel free to customize ingredients.
